Exploring PH13-8Mo Stainless Steel: A Star Material with Outstanding Performance
1、|Chemical Composition – Foundation of Performance|

PH13-8Mo is a precipitation hardening stainless steel with precise element ratios. Chromium (12.25%-13.25%) forms protective oxide films for corrosion resistance. Nickel (7.5%-8.5%) boosts toughness and strength. Molybdenum (1.50%-2.50%) improves resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. Aluminum (0.90%-1.35%) is the key hardening element to raise hardness and strength via precipitates.
2 、|Performance Advantages – Versatile Alloy|

After aging hardening, its tensile strength exceeds 1500MPa with balanced toughness, resisting fracture and deformation under high stress for aerospace structural and engine parts. Combined chromium and molybdenum deliver outstanding resistance to salt spray, acid, alkali and seawater, extending service life and cutting maintenance costs for marine equipment.
3、|Processing Properties – Excellent Machinability|

It excels in hot working, cold working and welding. Great plasticity for hot forging at 1170-1205°C; over 50% deformation below 1040℃ refines grains. Cold rolling and drawing are available, with enhanced mechanical properties after aging. Welding requires no preheating. Solution annealing and post-weld aging optimize properties for complex component fabrication.
